The HEARD Project is The Rep's new storytelling and poetry outreach initiative reaching underserved teens in Central Arkansas. In four months of weekly writing and performance workshops, students developed original written work exploring the theme of identity. BYE BYE BIRDIE wasn't scheduled to begin rehearsals until early June at Arkansas Repertory Theatre, but the initiative to train and recruit local teen talent began last fall.
